Nice. Whenever I see a Hind I think of Red Dawn... Is the Chinook from the Afghan Air Force too? Or is that what you arrived there in? Looks like it's a great life you have mate.

That was just a US Army Chinook that was departing from Kabul, probably heading back to Bagram Air Base.

I love the one of the bloke in the gunners position with the big grin on his face. ;D With a gun that big as well as some very efficient looking rocket pods under the wings, a grin from the gunner is probably the sort of expression you'd want to see when a Hind was pointing its bitey end towards you Fantastic photos Ned. We spoke to the guy in front for about 20 mins, he is Afghani and has flown many many missions against both the Soviets and the Taliban.
