As always Gavin fantastic!
The fourth one down a rugged aircraft with a rugged back ground, very nice light too.
Keep em coming.

Thanks Colin. The photos were taken over the Redwood Pass in Blenheim and there is a bit of tiger country around that area.

Gavin, beautiful images.
Is that the same Stearman that suffered the unfortunate landing incident at Classic Fighters?

Very nice photos, and what a lovely example of a Stearman that is.
Is that the OFMC tiger symbol on the side?

Yep Dave, she was owned by Ray Hanna and is(was?) on the market after his passing. The Stearman was based at Omaka for a few weeks and did a lot of flying in that time. It flew a great many joyrides and gave type experience to some local pilots. I never got around to having a fly of her myself though. A shame really as it would be nice to have such a piece of history in the logbook. It was nice to have a Stearman on the field. We need one here permanently!

I belive that this Stearman was not the one that ground looped at OM during Classic Fighters. ZK-STM was the one I think.

This aircraft left Omaka before Classic Fighters. This has a 450hp engine versus 220hp in most other Stearmans and I can tell you it climbs like an elevator, very impressive machine

Thanks Al.
It certainly looks impressive. I've never seen one do a proper display yet, as in at an airshow to show what they can do. I'd like to see this suped up one put through its paces though.
