Richard, you've got some really fantastic shots there. Seriously good stuff. I really like the 737 shot 5th from last.
What are those "Era" planes, are they Convairs?
My condolences that you only have the Manawatu to photogrpah in, but you've done very well otherwise.

Thanks for the kind words Dave
In actual fact, 6 out of 9 of those shots came from Wellington not Palmy! All the overhead shots are - there's no way I'd risk my 'one precious arrival for the next two hours' at Palmy by standing underneath it! It's alright to do that at Wellington since if you mess up one arrival, there's always another not too far behind it.
The Era planes are Convairs. Both were parked outside Fieldair a couple of years back and are now operating for Air Chathams (hence the red scheme) and possibly Air Freight. I think they're the slightly stretched version. Seeing them lined up like that was just too good a photo op to pass up. The big Allisons always create very moody shots from behind.

There are some great shots of some interesting subjects there, Richard. I like the Dash-8 with the nice blurry props - something I often have trouble with! I think that over time you will learn to love some of the shots you aren't necessarily happy with now - because of the subject matter and the time period they were taken over. I recently went through an old album of some photos I took in the mid-80s, and although there were some bad shots in there, some of the subject matter was great to see again. Keep up the good work!
