Congratulations to Gavin Conroy on a superb set of air to air photos of the Spitfire Mk V. They were well worth your efforts to get up there, and are a superb record of the test flying period.
Now that they've been published, can we possibly see some others here please?

Gavin - From one professional to another, congrats on some outstanding pics. Had a chat to Graeme at CWD this morning and like I told him they are excellent pics. Love the angles, the use of the backgrounds, framing, prop blur, lighting etc. When I gave up the shoot to you I had fingers crossed you would do well, and you didnt let me down. Keep up the awesome work and happy to give up any of my shoots to you. You have some great talent and when people work with you they get none of the other added crap that goes along with one or two of the industry's "self proclaimed" stars. Cheers Neville

I'll certainly second that. Any pic of a Spitfire is great but these are superb

I can tell you, working for him sucks when all you want to do is bow before him and congratulate him on some spectacular shots. As a mate, well done on a truly superb spread Gav!

I saw the mag today in Whitcoulls whilst waiting for my flight home on Air NZ having been in AKL today for a check. Great photos, and as has been said, any photo of a Spitfire is fantastic, but these were amazing. Well done

Thanks for the comments chaps. Lived two dreams that day, one flying in formation with my favourite mark of Spitfire and the second flying with John Lamont. Always admired him so it was good times indeed. Some photos might appear at a later dat, and couldnt think of a better site to host some. Thanks for the comments Ned, high praise indeed. Have been meaning to email you for a while just to say thanks and almost couldnt believe it when I was told. Graham said he had some exciting news and I thought he was kidding for a start. Have always admired your photos so good to here you are happy with the photos of th Mark V. Always try to make things easy and enjoy the flying very much so its more of a pleasure than anything and nice to have as an interest. Its been a very busy year and am looking forward to the holiday season to do some flying, aeros especially in the Airtourer that is at Omaka. Have missed flying myself since discovering the camera so am itching to get back into it. Ive learnt a lot and appreciate any feedback you guys can give as its about getting a nice photo of an aeroplane and pilot, thats it. Pretty straight forward really and quite satisfying when you get it right. I was given some good advice just before the 7 Triplane shoot at Easter and have never forgotten what Mr Jackson told me and now have a small phrase burnt into my memory and think my photos have got better as a result.

Gavin they are fantastic! Just got a copy today from Whitcoulls of Classic Wings and I can now see what you mean't on the day when you said you got some good shots. An understatement indeed these are outstanding to say the least. I look forward to seeing more fine air to air in future. In fact I think I will sign up for a Classic Wings subscription!
Cheers,
Colin

Thanks Dave, some nice comments there especially from the person who says the photos are the best Air 2 Airs they have seen, nice feeling that and a lot of people made it happen.
