Hi all, I seem to be having a small problem with my EOS350D. When I view the photos on the PC there are about 40 folders visible and usually only the last one contains the actual photos. When I then tell the card to erase the photos they (the folders) all disappear as though they had been deleted but then come back again next time I use the camera. I've had a bit of a google around but haven't seen any solutions yet, any ideas out there.
Thanks, Les.

When I then tell the card to erase the photos they (the folders) all disappear as though they had been deleted but then come back again next time I use the camera. All you are doing is deleting the files, not the folders. Format the card in the camera. Something you should do often to ensure the card is not defraged etc.

How often should one format the card?

How often should one format the card? Rather than delete the images on the card I reformat the card after uploading photos to the computer. On my camera there are two buttons that are pressed together for a couple of seconds twice and the card is done. Quicker than deleting all the images en masse. Colin

Good advice then, thanks for that. I better read up on how to format my 400D.

This is the only way to properly empty the C/F card. Make sure you have copied the files first.

I'd never heard of this before. I'd better read the book of our little Sony and see how it's done on it. Thanks for the advice Alex, and for bringing it to our attention Les.

I always reformat my cards after I've downloaded my images, as I've been led to believe it may cause image upload problems if you don't do it every now and again?

Not a matter of "now and again". Format every time otherwise you simply won't have the full capacity of the card.
A case of "If all else fails RTFI" chaps.
