Back in 1992 when I was at Wigram, the opportunity arose for me to have a fly in the RNZAF Historic Flight's Tiger Moth. This I will be forever grateful for to my corporal, Brendan 'Paddy' Flanagan who had somehow been promised a flight in it, but on the allotted day he got an urgent job thrust on him and he told me to go instead. The pilot was some Wing Commander, so high in rank I'd never met him before but he was a great chap. He allowed me to take my camera so I got a few shots between long moments of clutching it viciously so it didn't get thrown from the cockpit in our aerobatic maneuvres. We did some aeros like loops (he let me fly my own loop too!) and rolls and even a spin which was a real thrill. In 1993 I got the task of creating a cover for the Tiger Moth as the birds kept crapping on it. I designed and manufactured a cover that fitted snugly in several pieces over the wing surfaces and fuselage. The ówners', ie the Historic Flight, were so pleased with the result - they didn't think I'd go to such lengths to make it fit perfectly - that I was offered another ride. I told the Flight Sgt, Pedro, that though I appreciated the offer I owed the ride to Paddy. So I think (hope) he finally got his ride. Here are the snaps I took. We were flying close to Wigram. I think there are a few more snaps somewhere. If they turn up I'll add them to the thread.

They show up fine for me, and very nice they are too. Would love to have a flight in a Tiger Moth someday.
