Special thanks to Brendon Deere for making this magnificent aircraft available and to John Lanham for flying it so well. Havent seen to many Air 2 Air photos of this aircraft so it was nice to take a few photos of it.

Very nice photos, Gavin, of a nice aircraft. Is that scheme authentic - as in the checked cowling?

Lovely shot Gav. No, the scheme is not authentic in terms of RNZAF colours. Before Brendon had it this Harvard belonged to Ray Hanna and it was based at Wanaka. He had put it into an RAF scheme and Brendon has changed it back to Kiwi colours but he liked the checks so has kept them. A very interesting machine this one as it was used by the Central Flying School of the RNZAf in WWII, then by the TAF (No. 2 Squadron), and later used by the NZ army as a Forward Air Control aircraft and then with No. 14 Squadron.

Thnaks Dave, I knew it had an interesting background but didnt know all of that. Amazing that it survived in such original condition after serving with all of those units.
