That's from the original wartime documentary Memphis Belle.

This is a great piece of real war footage That scene is, I'm fairly certain, is from the excellent training film "12' o 'Clock High" which was about command and control, and was still being shown in Staff Colleges right up until the 70s. It was made in 1944 I believe. There was a very similar scene, in fact it might have been the same one colour enhanced, in the film "The War Lover" starring Steve McQueen.

Joe, I'll have to watch it again to check but I do not think that the clip I posted comes from The Memphis Belle (1944).
The poster of the clip states it's from The Doc Furniss War.
This clip is a lot more amateur than the slick professional filmmakers hand of The Memphis Belle - note it's a handheld camera rather than tripod, etc.
Colin, I assume the '12 O'Clock High' you refer to as a training film is not the same one as the feature film?
The scene in The War Lover of the B-17 belly landing was done especially for the film, it's not wartime footage. They wrote off a B-17 on purpose, and it was flown for the film by John Crewsdon. Just like as in the 1949 film 12 O'Clock High, in which the B-17 crash landing was flown by film stunt flyer Paul Mantz.

The 1990's film was not accurate by any means. Nor was the 1944 version. It was a compilation of loads of different missions by different bombers, and the Memphis Belle was NOT the first USAAF aircraft and crew to complete 25 missions. Plus a lot of footage was lost so they reshot it in the USA. Incidentally a couple of the camera crew were killed in the making of the film. It's a great documentary but not accurate in terms of the story it purported to tell of the last mission of The Memphis Belle. Another great wartime documentary - also in colour and about USAAF bombers - is Clark Gable's documentary 'Combat America' www.imdb.com/title/tt0035745/See here www.youtube.com/results?search_query=combat+americaAnd regarding The War Lover with Steve McQueen and Robert Wagner see here

Yes you are right Dave, that footage is not on the Memphis Belle documentary from 1944. Apologies there. Very interesting those videos you posted. I can't belive they wrote a B17 off for a film!
