Question for any of the CHC based members Jetstar A320 VH-VQS has spent the day on the ramp in CHC with this morning's Sydney and this afternoon's Melbourne flights cancelled. Does anyone know the reason - I'm assuming VQS has gone u/s just wondering what's happened to her. If anyone can shed any light on the situation it would be appreciated

I drove past that area a few times today and saw her there. There was some stairs up to her front door but no other GSE was around. Will have another look in the morning. I have seen Qantas a/c in the ANZ hangar here a few times, I take it this continues onto Jetstar a/c as well.

VHVQS was hit in the cargo door area with the JCPL on the scheduled afternoon turn-around 24Apr resulting in the cargo door being unable to close fully.

cheers for that Flyboi - much appreciated - any idea of how long she will be out of service - is it simply a case of some panel beating or does the cargo door need replacing before she can fly again???

I believe JQ are still evaluating possible options with what to do regarding repair. From close inspection I dont see it getting airborne anytime soon....

To make it clear guys, VQS was struck in the cargo door area. Its kinda hard to explain though the aircraft is in an airworthy state. Someone with a little more knowledge may want to comment further. Cheers

yep, she was gone when I went passed at 0500 this morning. There was a 737 outside the maintenance hangar with some big lights around the place while they were doing something strange to it. Well strange as I could not work it out for a start but from the gas being purged into the air, I think they were doing some loxing, if thats what they have fitted. There were shadows on the closed hangar doors which looked great but when i went to take a photo my battery compartment had opened and could only find 3 of the 4 batteries and couldn't be bothered looking around under all the other crap in the back sat at that time of the morning.
