Has any progress been made at all by the various councils regarding the much-talked about aviaition centre they were going to build at Ohakea to replace the RNZAF Museum there?
Has work begun on a building yet?

No physical progrees. They have officially formed a Trust and are talking with the RNZAF/MOD about a suitable building to be incorporated in the Ohakea redevelopment project... given how slow that is moving don't expect to see anything open for several years. Meanwhile the old Ohakea Museum building/cafe sits empty! Why they didn't just take the whole place over from the RNZAF Museum (including all the displays) and leave it as it was is beyond me. Even if they only opened on the weekends with voluteers running it would have been better than what we have now - an empty building and the collection scattered all over the place (and I'm picking a lot of it will never be seen again!).
