I have just been surprised by the postman dropping a fantastic package in my letter box. It has been sent to me by MMP books, and is none other than Alex Crawford's latest book, The Hawker Hart Family. WOW is the first thing I can say at this stage. What a beautiful book, covering in depth the history of a beautiful family of aircraft. There are hundreds of amazing photos of the Harts, Hinds, Audax, Hector, Hardy, and loads of variants I'd never heard of before. The text too, which i have not yet had a chance to delve into, looks comprehensive and authoritative. As well as the many excellent photos there are also numerous drawings, the pilots notes, colour profiles by Remi Pierlot, and lots of detail shots in colour of surviving aircraft. And yes it covers RNZAF Hinds too! The book has 256 pages, so is larger than the average MMP book. It is beautifully presented with very nice glossy pages. It is in MMP's Orange series. It is numbered No. 8107 in their catalogue. My first impressions are this is a definitive work, and will be very popular with modellers, historians and fans of the Hawker biplanes. Well done Alex, and well done MMP, on producing such a fine work. I had no idea one was on its way to me, so it's really cheered my up from my winter flu. Thanks so much! See MMP's page on this book at their site here www.mmpbooks.biz/books/o8107/o8107p.htm

Not RNZAF Dave, but Alex's book on the Hawker Fury is well worth picking up as well.
