Downloaded the MAAM Avenger yesterday NZ$43.00. a 108mb file but what a beaut!! Has two aircraft in RNZAF wartime colours NZ2518/NZ2525 The detail of the cockpit and the virtual cockpit arrangements are superb. Took a trial flight from NZPP just a circuit to get familiar. Had to remember all the drills from ground running NZ2504 at Wigram in the late 1970s! The sound is just about right for the different RPM ranges. Has full wing folding, bomb bay doors, canopy and door openings. You can even hand pump the wings from fold to spread while on the ground using the hydraulic pump handle in the cockpit. Brough back great memories Am looking forward to carrying out some sorties over the weekend should there be enough hours in the day
A 95 page manual is included in the download
Thoroughly recommended model for "Turkey" enthusiasts

Hi Paul. Are you using FS 2004 or FSX? And I remember groundrunning NZ2504 too! (That's me in the cockpit) Barry

Hi Barry,
good to see you remembering the TBF days. I have both FSX and FS9. My preference at this time is for FS9 (FS2004) as I have many add-ons and scenery bits. The MAAM TBF can be downloaded for both programmes It is great fun flying the TBF and a range of other RNZAF aircraft on the flight sim For example I now have about 150 hours on the Andover!
cheers
Paul

Wow!! That is brilliant. Well done Paul, and thanks to other Paul for bringing this to everyone's attention. It's great to see Plonky back in kiwi skies.
One question, where has Al put the Bristol Freighter?
Also, have you got Darton Field in your simulator?

Thanks Dave - yea the Bristol Freighter isnt installed on my system yet - there is a way of getting it into the Omaka airport scenery but I havent installed it yet so its just a blank space - another one of those must do things.
Where's Darton field??

Darton Field is Gisborne's aerodrome where No's 30 and 31 Squadrons were based.

Jeez Dave, there is a good reason the Bristol isn't where you'd think it was. What do you think the air to air shots were taken from? ;D ;D ;D

I flew into Gisborne yesterday and it never fails to amaze me that we have 'traffic lights' on the runway to warn us of locomotives that might get in the way. Railway crossing safety advocates would have a fit if they saw us blasting across railway lines at 185 kmh without even looking left or right!

;D
Al, if you ever fly into Gisborne and have soem free time (which I expect is rare as it will be a quick turnaround I expect) perhaps you could try to pop in and photograph the Avenger in their museum there for us?

Sorry been meaning to upload more shots of the Avenger - I have been a bit scarce lately as a bloody virus (wiped half of one of my drives - I have to completely rebuild my sim - when I get a chance I'll post some more

Very nice! Thanks for that. The view from the gun turret brought back memories of my trip in the real Plonky.

That looks really good. Are you using FS2004 or FSX? I think it is for FS2004 but does work in FSX. Now if only someone would do a skin for NZ2504 in target tug markings and without a turret I could time warp back to 1980! ;D Omaka looks incredible but wheres the Bristol??
