The Dominator (autoflight in the link above) is a US design if I recall, howveer it is now manufactured in NZ by Neil Hintz at Eureka, near Hamilton. Neil also builds the reduction drive gearboxes for Subaru engines as used on my Adventurer. They are quite neat machines and the build quality is excellent.

I remember reading in wings magazines about a chap Dick Brett who built a gyro in 1954 and an autogyro called the Gibson GG1 ZK-RBX believed to have been design in NZ.

Dick Brett designed and built his own autogyro, the only one in N.Z. ever to have been issued with a full certificate of airworthiness. Built initially as a gyro-glider it was registered from memory as ZK-GAO...will have to fossick through my files to find the details of it. Years ago I started to build another one with Dick's help but it got changed significantly and was never finished - decided I wanted to become an old man and stuck with fixed wing instead.

Where the gyros built by Alf Crowe in the Manawatu all overseas
designs or did he get to design any himself .
Way back,, the Everson bros started work on a rotary
wing aircraft but not sure if it was a gyro
