That's in excess of 4.4 mil NZ $ and it's not even finished.? Or at least that's how it reads.

So tell me, when is the collection starting then?? To keep it in NZ requires serious money.. I am sorry shorty, I find your comments a little perplexing....The price is 'completed and flying', dreaming? I think not, to own and fly one of these planes cost serious money and if you are serious then money is not an issue.... I has talked to several former pilots of hinds, who all develop a sparkle in there eye and hold the Hind in very high esteem.... 'Sound like the wife of one of the younger Subritzky's is dreaming again!', which one??, is this opinion or fact??

Whilst we all hope that someone in NZ purchases this aircraft, it is important to remember that the Subritzkys are allowed to sell it for whatever they like to whomever. It may allow them more funds to complete other aircraft in the collection, such as the Vildebeest. Sacrifices have to be made sometimes. Regarding the price, it is difficult to judge what is realistic - there havent been too many airworthy Hinds sold on the market in the last few years! whilst it isnt "unique" especially with recent Afgan recoveries, Hawker Biplanes are very desirable... shall we all club together and buy a forum aeroplane?

Bruce, I think you'll find their V-bomber is a Vincent. The Vildebeest is at Wigram.

... Yeah one or the other had a 50% chance of being right! (which is more than usual!)

That is it exactly Bruce. I recall there are several frames listed in their inventory....I am sure with the time spent collecting, researching and tooling up, putting one of these frames on the market is a decision not taken lightly....But the frames are theirs, to do as they choose and that theoretically gives you or me or anyone the chance to purchase and fly one of these unique machines.... One thing though, it's great to see the work that has been done so far, certainly not a small and quick job, I guess you could say, the market will dictate if this is a fair price.....

Having had the privilege of seeing those Hinds up close I have to say that as far as restoration projects go, the work the Subritzky family and their team have done are among the best and most inspiring restorations I've seen. At that time the most advanced one was being restored for the Old Stick and Rudder Company, but I hear that is no longer the case, sadly. Perhaps they would have been the only collection to keep one flying here, but we'll have to see. I know I'd much rather buy a Hind than the Spitfire they have, if I had the money, the Hind is all class. I'd put it into No. 20 AC Squadron configuration though.
