Hi Judy,
Welcome to the forum, and thanks very much for posting. I would certainly be interested to learn more about your father, as he's part of the Cambridge Air Force project I run. I will shift this post into the area dedicated to the Cambridge Air Force site, a sub-board in the RNZAF section.
Please let me know any details you have that can add to the page on your father, and if you have any wartime photos I'd also be keen to use them please.

Hi Dave,
Just a few details on Frank Stott. The Operational Record Book has him being posted to 75 squadron on 21 March 1944 from No.31 Base. I can't see a 2nd dicky op, but he took his crew on their first op to the Marshalling Yards at Aulnoye on 25/26 March 1944 in Stirling EF233.
I can go through looking for the rest of their ops if you like.
Regards, Wayne M

Hi Dave,
Yes, the orb has the full crew list and their trade. Give me a day or two and I'll have the list for you.

Apologies Dave, I haven't had time to list Franks ops yet. Usual story, damn work taking up all my time. I'll try one or two to see how the word document transfers here.

Now that my webmaking computer works again (thanks Kerry!!) I have finally been able to update Frank Stott's page with the info from Wayne.
One thing I have to query Wayne is in an earlier post you have that Aulnoye raid as him as 2nd Pilot, but later he is captain. Was the earlier note an error? Thanks.

Hello Dave, Yes the earlier note was in error, sorry. I've been back to check the ORB's and it was my mistake. He flew the Aulnoye op as Captain, but after converting to Lancasters flew as 2nd dicky with F/L S. Clark and crew to Essen on 26/27 April 1944. Seems strange that he had to fly with another crew, when he already had taken his own crew on ops.
26/27 April 44. Operations. Attack against Essen. Lancaster III ND911 Up 23:20 Down 03:35 F/L S. Clark Captain RNZAF P/O F. Stott 2nd Pilot RNZAF F/O N. Bawden Nav RNZAF P/O T. Bradley A/B RAAF F/S L. Halden WO/Air Sgt R. Otway F/Eng Sgt E. Gleave M/U F/S N. Trott R/G RNZAF
7 May 44. Operations. Attack on Chateau Bougon Aerodrome. Lancaster I R5692 Up 00:30 Down 05:50 P/O F. Stott Captain RNZAF
9 May 44. Operations. Attack on Cap Griz Nez. Lancaster III ND801 Up 03:00 Down 05:15 P/O F. Stott Captain RNZAF 11/12 May 44. Operations. Attack against Louvain Lancaster I LL888 Up 22:45 Down 01:35 P/O F. Stott Captain RNZAF More to follow, it's 02:24 am.

Wayne,
Sorry for jumping into this thread but can you confirm that F/Sgt N. Trott served with the RNZAF? I looked for his name in Errol Martyn´s For Your Tomorrow, Vol3 but he is not included in lists of airmen leaving New Zealand. There is a J.A. Trott leaving NZ 2 March 1942 for training as WOp/AG in Canada and L.G. Trott but he was a pilot.
F/Sgt N. Trott claimed a Ju 88 destroyed on the 12 May 1944 (I have a copy of the Combat Report).

Peter,
N Trott was not a member of the RNZAF, nor even a New Zealander as best I can tell.

Peter, was N. Trott flying with Frank Stott when that claim was made?

For some reason when i tried to alter my last post, realising it was unliekly for N. Trott to be on Frank Stott's crew, the forum won't allow it to be changed and says the post doesn't exist, yet I can still see it. Odd.
Thanks for the latest details Wayne. Can you please give me your last name so I can properly credit you on the webpage?
I wonder, was there much difference for the pilot or the crew between flying in the Lancaster I and the Lancaster III? I note that they flew both on the squadron and I wondered if they had to learn to use different equipment or procedures in both types?

Errol,
Thank you for the clarification.
Dave,
N. Trott´s claim was made with F/Lt S.A. Clark, RNZAF as pilot. On the 26 July Frank Stott´s Bomb Aimer D. Archer, RCAF claimed a damaged Ju 88. Archer was flying in an unusual position for a Bomba Aimer. He was in the rear turret.

If F/S N. Trott wasn't RNZAF it's a mistake copied from the O.R.B Thanks for clearing that up Errol. I'll try and attach a scan showing him listed. Attachments:
