Alex - no idea of times yet - probably wont be released until closer to the time as these things are changeable .... and who knows if the QF A380 will be reliable Beagle - only AKL at this stage - which is a pity as CHC would be far easier to get to, to see it. Looks like I'll have to forgo seeing it and just wait until Feb 2nd when the Emirates A380 touches down ...

. and who knows if the QF A380 will be reliable Well Emirates' first one has apparently been decked for week after an electrical fire. All I'm worried about is if it can do LAX-MEL with full payload so us staffies can get on instead of being left behind because they are weight limited.

From the Qantas schedule............ Arrives AKL Thursday 9th as QF6601 at 2200 departs as QF6602 at 1500 on Friday 10th October to and from SYD. Should be plenty of time for photos on the ground Alex and also as it departs for those who cant get airside

If you were feeling a bit nervous and maybe ill before boarding that, you sure as hell would be when you saw it.

Not too sure of the reason, but Sydney airport website showing departure as 1800 (2000NZDT) so could be daylight savings or possibly a change of flight time by an hour since all the media releases said 2200.

Damn quiet plane, kind of sneaks up on you. At 10:00 I was with a small group in a nice spot by the harbour bridge with a good view of the harbour .... ... waiting and waiting and waiting when all of a sudden one of the group says "there she is" as the aircraft came over the bridge and then overhead (in exactly the opposite direction to which we'd been looking). I managed to get a few shots on video but they're not great sorry.... About 40 minutes later I shot this from my back step. I eagerly await those taken with more skill.
