After no completing a model in a little bit (does about 2 months count?) I came to the fore and completed these two beauties while waiting for my son Edge to be born (8lb 4oz by the way). Okay not litterally making them in the waiting room but the week prior and some finishing post birth.
Anyway the Panzer IV L/70 is the old Revell (ex-Matchbox) issue that came with figures and a display base but these weren't made up as hoping to make a diorama/base in future. Was a simple build but fun and a good chance to try new techniques obtained while watching a Youtube video (links below ) and also since I hadn't build armour since I was about 10. Even then I think my sister actually did it for her little bro ;D
The "K.T." (as I call it) is the recent Dragon King Tiger issue of this awesome armoured fighting vehicle. Purchased while up there it went together without any faults and full of enjoyment (link to review included below). Kit includes their new technology of "slide moulding"which allows for hollow bore barrel & muzzel, also includes zimmerrit which was crisply done (work well with dry brushing). also included 4x etched metal "mesh screens" which were the covers for the engine vents. Added great detail and again lent itself to weathering well. Still have to attach the AA MG 42.
so there's the pics (I'll get better), hope you like them because the build was fun. (now to build the Shermans, Panther, Whirbelwind, Churchill and 2.5 Tonne truck I've nowpurchased in enthusiastic fashion)
Link to Youtube vids - Is a Japanese TV program of pro's building armour & aircraft. Very inspirational, watch them all by clicking on the members name (sleepylafiel) and you can see all his links with all the vids).
