Need some advise or at lease some clarification. I know enamel and acrylic paints don't mix and if you paint one over the other they don't dry.
I'm painting a 1/72 Sherman and sprayed it Lacquer Olive Drab and did dry brushing (okay it was probably a bit heavy so - damp brushing XD). It came out sticky which I expected but still wasn't dry this morning (finished job at 10.30 last night).
Question stands: Does enamel cure if applied over lacquer paints? I know they're both solvent based so I imagine so, I'm probably just paranoid or impatient but wasn't sure as thought it might just take longer to cure.

Gosh, nearly two years since this was posted but thought I'd pipe up for the sake of others here who might be wondering.
You can paint enamels over acrylics and vice versa, however the paint has to be completely cured before apply the other paint. I paint with enamels but use Klear (which is an acrylic) as a clear coat. But I will give it at least 48 hours between painting one type on the other.
You can paint enamel over lacquers but once again it's a good idea to let the lacquer cure thoroughly first. Once again I would give it at least 48 hours to cure before applying the enamels.
