Yes, but during it TV3 saw fit to switch off and stick adverts on like they do every year. That was when I switched off too.

Nice photo stu, Dave I think it had more to do with seven Aus than tv3 as to where the ad break appeared at that stage of the broadcast-see stu's pic above has 'Live feed' which I would I would take is from channel seven in that slot as opposed to Live link etc from the 3/Rock presenter's - although I could be wrong wouldn't be the first time-cheers.

Correct. We had two satellite feeds coming in, one from Channel 7 (race) and one from our Bathurst based presenters sitting in the pits. TV3 basically had to try and match the comm breaks taken by Channel 7. There were a few times when our breaks weren't as long as those taken in Australia so a bit of filling had to be done from our presenters. Personally, I'd rather watch the race uninterrupted but the realities of commercial television dictate that our job is to provide some programming to go around the ads or we don't get paid. The only bonus of working in the studio during the race is that there is very little to do once it's up and running ... put the appropriate fader up, sit back and enjoy and every so often cross to the presenters or roll in a tape item. Also helps when you have a VERY big telly next door on the studio floor with a direct, ad free feed of the race running into it ;D I do sympathise with you though Dave.

What is the size of that screen? WhereDoYaGetIt? ;D 103 inch. Take out a second mortgage and go pay a visit to your local Panasonic (I think) dealer. You'll also need a solid concrete floor to support it and your own power station so as not to brown out the national grid

You'll also need a solid concrete floor to support it and your own power station so as not to brown out the national grid 103", which is about 8 1/2 feet. I am right in saying when you measure tv's it is from a top corner to an opposite bottom corner. Looking at that image, if we can get you to lie at a 45 degree angle , wow you must be a giant Stu.

panasonic.co.nz/product-detail$product$955$.htmlI'd class myself as a giant only around the midriff at present ;D All a trick of perspective really (and not me in the photo for the record) with the subject closer to the camera than the screen. Here's one with the director (also not me) posing for posterity during a quiet moment, he'd be about my height - 5' 11" and is standing about a foot or so away from the screen .... And in a vain attempt to drag the thread back on topic .... the F/A-18 looked REALLY good on it Cheers, Stu.
