Yeah, I'm thinking $12.50 would probably snaffle one for me gonna collect parts if I find em, but for now I'll focus on this R/C one! Mmmm!

Def keep a eye out on trade me as pool guy said, There was a tail section and rudder pedals and some pullys and bits at some stage aswell, all going fairly cheap too. The RC one your looking at comes up every now and then, the guy who originally made the molds no longer does them, so I've been told so abit of a rare thing. A mate of mine picked one up last year, although his came with the wing and tail Wouldn't mind owning one of those Johnson ones pity Ive nowhere to park the sucker

Does anyone know the history of the Johnson's equipment? I take it they are parked at Bridge Pa? I actually have the space (farm strip), but I would only really like a flying one. Would be nice to preserve a 400hp model in airworthy condition. Gee it was only a few years ago I was playing in the PAC hangar watching the continentals being pulled out and big chunky Lycomings taking their place. Zacyates, have you tried scrap metal dealers in Hamilton or Palmerston North? I can imagine with the amount of engineering done on a significant number of fletchers, that some would have been thrown away. I know our old 400hp fletcher (ZK-CBD) got chopped in Palmerston North in 1998 Might be some remnants of her there Must go now, made myself depressed

Mstokes, I'd LOVE to have a 400hp Fletcher to take to fly-ins, shows etc as a flying memorial to those pilots - and loader drivers - who lost their lives in the industry.........plus they're such fantastic runabouts!

Pleased to help Zac ( I actually thought of buying it myself at one stage , but I still have a half built cessna thats not looking like taking to the skies too soon ) . I know you will be itching to get into the fletcher build , but I recommend putting some energy into your trainer first . Your first few visits to the rc club will have your head spinning with information , and its best doing the learning before the building .

Most definitely! As it turns out, builders are a dying breed due to the amount of off the shelf aircraft around today.
Mind you........how hard will it be to fit a hopper into the Airsail Beaver?.......

Hi there all, my name is Brian, Just reading this post about the Fletcher parts. I worked at PAC on and off over the years since 1973 building the CT4, Fletcher, Cresco and the latest 750XL. Great job and a great place to work. You may find parts at Hamilton airport from Super Air and the likes. They still have a few old fletchers there and probably some parts. Other similar places around New Zealand would also be worth checking out. I know there are still a few in action around the country.
I am also looking for Fletcher plans or 3 view scale drawings to make a R/C scale model. I have searched over the web and can't find a darn thing. Someone in the South Island was making the R/C kits a while back but can't remember who !!!!!
I am living in the land of OZ now but it's great to keep in touch with you locals.
Cheers Brian...............

Hi Bri,
If you were working on Fletchers in Hamilton from 1983-1986 you probably would have seen me hanging around as a kid when Dad's fletchers got serviced. Loved that place.
I am currently working on a 1/32 scale fletcher (300hp model ZK-BOF) and I got some plans from the helpful guys on this website. I used them to create master moulds so I could vacform a few fletchers for myself. I can forward these onto you if you like, send me a personal message and I can pass them on. I worked out that printing on A4 paper and then blowing them up to 159% gives you some nice 1/32 plans.
Warren Russell is the guy in Bluff who makes the plans you are after. I saw an advertisement from him recently in one of the R/C mags so it seems he is still going. Ad reads $5.00 US for plans and address is New Zealand Aero Products 34 Ward Parade Stirling Point, Bluff New Zealand

Anyone got any time-ex Fletcher bits they don't want/need? Would love to get my hands on a right-hand instrument panel, throttle lever (mine has no knob/grip), fuselage, engine, prop, wing, stabilator, canopy, cockpit section. Save time! Got a complete Fletcher? Get in touch!

I know where you can find a fuselage and wing near Wanganui ;P
Prop could be the most expensive off all those items, not sure how much a dead engine would go for. Maybe search around where all the turbines get converted or with Aeromotive in Hamilton?

Fine idea! I hoped to snaffle ex-WAW machine ZK-DZN, but unfortunately she was scrapped very recently .

Uh, wasn't me, was the company who had her in their custody. I believe corrosion was a key factor. Trust me, I'm very disappointed too.
