do we know if it is just doing a resupply flight from the homeland to CHC, or will it be continuing it's journey southbound to the frozen continent

I'm unsure of this, only got told about it being here for 2 days, but my money is on that it would be heading down south to Antartica. I assume it's the right time of the year to enable this??

Thanks for posting the photos mate, they're excellent. They take me back to the 1990's when I used to see and hear them thundering in and out of Harewood, and also the Starlifters.

It makes you wonder how something so big can fly, eh.

They have quite a novel way of retracting - the main gears turn 90 degrees I believe, then go up.
Nice pics.

yeah, we had a bit of a wet few days. Hot dry and windy at the moment here in canterbury. I was waiting for someone to say things on how to improve the photo shot, apart from taking it in the dark. There was a bit of wind around that night and as I had the lens poking through the wire fence this was the only shot of about 10 that was not fuzzy. no flash used, done that before but hopeless.

Beags, I was actually impressed that you'd taken such a clear shot in such difficult conditions. I'm not crash hot at taking night shots like this either, especially with all that background light from the terminal building in the background.
Maybe one of the other photographers here might be able to give some better advice?

That's a really moody shot Beagle, I love the effect of the lights on the wet tarmac. It looks almost like a watercolour painting.
