Evening All As posted earlier here's my 1/72 RNZAF P-51D built using Hasegawa's kit. Model is build OOB with Tamiya tape seat belts added for extra detail (it seems to "lift" out the cockpit's detail). Had to use P-51K blades as didn't have the right paddle type - buying some proper Novascale blades for my TAF Wellington Sqn P-51 (Tamiya 1/72). Markings are Ventura's recent TAF Mustang decals which are beaut and bedded down well without need of setting agents, but doesn't hurt to use them still. The raised piece under the top wing decal is annoying and taked a bit to get down, had to make a patch using a spare after cutting to fit. Smaller details painted using Tamiya enamels and area painting using Alclad II Dark Aluminium & Gunze Sangyo Silver. Weathered using Tamiya smoke for exhaust & gun smoke, panel washed with acrylics and Tamiya weathering powders applied to make wheels to look used. Included a pic of an RAF P-51 build in conjuntion to get an idea of the wheel well detail. I don't use chalk often now. Enjoy ![](http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w253/Tempestwulf2007/Picture016.jpg) ![](http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w253/Tempestwulf2007/Picture014.jpg) ![](http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w253/Tempestwulf2007/Picture.jpg)

Very nice work. I never knew that any RNZAF Mustangs carried nose art like that.

Which kit did you rob the blades from? I got some resin ones from a company in aussie, but only two of the four are really usable, the others were warped backwards, and trying to straighten them didn't really work.

As far as I'm aware all hasegawa P-51D/K models come with both types of blades & both types of canopy (bulged & unbulged). It's their newer moulds. I have another kit that's gonna be a -D if you want some. The blades you brought sound like they were either from RedRoo Models or Novascale. www.redroomodels.com.auor stores.ebay.com.au/Novascale-Hobbies
