This type kit seems to have become an almost obselete technology . I suspect there are quite a few around which will never get built either being put aside in the too hard basket or superceded by injection moulded equivalents. So if anyone has any in their stash which they might like to sell , I am looking for some . My interests are in the main British , but not exclusively , and only 1/72 . So if you have any of those old Contrail , Formaplane , Rareplane or similar gathering dust and want to sell , let me know .

... and any you dont want, let me know I actually like vac forms, even if the quality is variable (and they become "assisted scratchbuilds") I get a great deal of satisfaction getting them to a decent standard. If I ever get my Miles Aerovan setup I'll sort you out a set of formings....

I have a Contrail 1/48th scale Hudson which cost an arm and a leg and was the most disappointing pice of crap I have ever seen in my life. On opening it I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Kerry laughed heartily! He righly pointed out that rather than take the trouble to build up an accurate fuselage plug to mould it over, they'd simply used a dead fish.
Anyone want to make me a big offer for it? ;D

Well , I have an apalling He 70 if you like ! How far have you got with the Aerovan ? There was an Aerovan kit being developed in Wellington , a few years back it was going to be 1/72 injection moulded . I don't know what became of this .

If any of the vacform model builders are looking for some building techniques as well as an extensive series of short buildup comments drop me a line at matsman@cox.net. I have a DVD available that is based on my original 1984 publication. I will respond with a few sample pages from the DVD.
