Charles Upham movie's future 'doubtful' Taranaki Daily News | Wednesday, 18 February 2009 Venture Taranaki chief executive Stuart Trundle has admitted the prospects of the Charles Upham movie going ahead are "not encouraging". Venture Taranaki made a grant of $150,000 to the group driving the project, Fat And Thin Productions, in 2006. The project has been plagued with problems, most recently Fat And Thin went into liquidation owing about $1.4 million to investors in October and last week director Justin Chadwick said he could no longer work with producer Chris Chrisafis. Last night, while presenting Venture Taranaki's second quarter progress report to the New Plymouth District Council monitoring committee, Mr Trundle said he still received regular newsletters from Fat And Thin directors assuring him they are trying to keep the project going. "I'm not a betting man, but certainly the directors are doing their best to get that project under way. "I think it's very clear the current climate for raising funds is challenging. "I think the outlook is not encouraging." The Taranaki Electricity Trust also made a grant to Fat And Thin of about $150,000. www.stuff.co.nz/4851596a1860.html
