Cheers guys These are all from the flight sim IL2 the original screen from the game was the first ki21, I added all the others via photoshop from other screenshots to get the right placement I wanted and edited the lighting and shadows for effect I cant guarantee the accuracy of the Ki21 paints schemes to ones used over Singapore but they look cool in the palm leaf type squiggles The Buffalos are the famous NF-O W8138 (Green Dragon) and NF-I W8150

Nice, a mate at work is lending me one of the IL2 follow ons (1946 I believe) I used to play IL2 and the packs, sometimes one on one against my brother in law. (Who loved shooting me down since I have a pilots licence and he doesn't )

Did the Buffalo have glazing on the underside?

Joe, I think the Buffalo had underside glazed panels as the aircraft was designed to carry small bombs at one point.

Thanks, I'd never noticed that before I saw the picture here.

I have always found it interesting that the colour scheme of the Buffaloes was black and white underneath, a scheme dropped by the RAF after the Battle of France. Were they in storage for over a year and not repainted or something? Also notice how the underside roundels are almost falling off the wingtips, rather odd.

Maybe they were destined for delivery to Europe before things got nasty in the Asia Pacific region? I doubt that painting would have been a priority at that time.
