Can you elaborate on what you mean by "unique colour scheme"? Which one did you have in mind?

Paul, the RNZAF Corsairs (424 of them in all) carried a variety of colour schemes from the 4-tone standard US Navy scheme they were delivered in (with RNZAF markings) through to full New Zealand repaints. These are all detailed in Warren P. Russell's excellent book 'Corsair Special' inhis small range of books on NZPAF and RNZAF Colours, Markings, etc.
There were variations right the way through too of roundel size and style, depending on which Servicing Unit was applying them I think.
As Shorty says, is there a specific scheme you have in mind?

the colour scheme i'm looking at is the rnzaf repaint two colour style blue/Grey on top and a lighter colour (possibly light Grey underneath). i'm looking into a what if project and looking at various late war navy style scheme's and the two colour rnzaf scheme looks rather nice compared to overall blue that the us navy used paul

Paul, the colours you refer to are actually the USN 4 tone schemes but heavily faded and coated with Coral dust. The RNZAF repaints were generally single colour over all - normally Dark sea blue.

No Paul is correct.
The first Corsairs came in the 4 tone US Navy Scheme and the Goodyear Corsairs came in the USN Glossy Sea Blue overall scheme. However there were several NZ repaint schemes after that.
RNZAF Re-paint Scheme 1 - as identified by Russell, was (NZ) Ocean Blue (which was a blue-grey colour) on the upper surfaces and outer lower wings, with Non Specular Insignia White undersides (under fuselage, horizontal stabilisers and inner wings to hinge joint)
RNZAF Re-paint Scheme 2 - as identified by Russell, was (NZ) Ocean Blue on the upper surfaces and outer lower wings, with Non Specular Light Grey undersides (under fuselage, horizontal stabilisers and inner wings to hinge joint)
RNZAF Re-paint Scheme 3 - as identified by Russell, was Glossy Sea Blue on the upper surfaces; Non Spec. Intermediate Blue on the outer lower wings, with Non Specular Insignia White undersides (under fuselage, horizontal stabilisers and inner wings to hinge joint)
RNZAF Re-paint Scheme 4 - as identified by Russell, was Glossy Sea Blue on the upper surfaces, with NZ Duck Egg Blue B undersides (under fuselage, horizontal stabilisers and entire wings)
RNZAF Re-paint Scheme 5 - as identified by Russell, was Glossy Sea Blue on the upper surfaces, bottom of the fuselage and inner lower wings, with Non Specular Intermediate Blue undersides on horizontal stabilisers and outer wings from hinge joint to wingtip, plus on the rudder.
RNZAF Re-paint Scheme 6 - as identified by Russell, was Glossy Sea Blue on the upper surfaces and outer lower wings, with Non Specular Insignia White undersides (under fuselage, horizontal stilisers and inner wings to hinge joint)
RNZAF Re-paint Scheme 7 - as identified by Russell, was Glossy Sea Blue overall, upper and lower
RNZAF Re-paint Scheme 8 - as identified by Russell, was Glossy Sea Blue on the upper surfaces and outer lower wings, with Non Specular Light Grey undersides (under fuselage, horizontal stilisers and inner wings to halfway between the wing root and hinge joint)
I think the one Paul wants is No. 2 and Bruce refers to No. 7

thank guy's i think your right dave scheme #2 seems right(was this the scheme that the ofmc painted theyre xnz corsair?) and scheme #4 sounds pretty good too! i'm, thinking of painting another us navy product in a similar scheme. dave do you know a model paint that will closely match those colours? paul

Xtracolor paints made the exact matches to the US paints so I guess probably makes Non Specular Light Grey, but as for the (NZ) Ocean Blue it is a very, very close match to the RAF colour called PRU Blue. The Xrtacolor range made PRU Blue with the number X8.
A Humbrol alternate for (NZ) Ocean Blue is five parts HU5 (aka Humbrol 96) to one part No. 34 (Matt White)
