From the Otago Daily Times www.odt.co.nz/your-town/wanaka/59775/warbirds-chairman-resignsWarbirds chairman resignsFri, 5 Jun 2009 Warbirds Over Wanaka Community Trust interim chairman Garth Hogan has resigned to focus on other interests, his family and retirement, the trust has announced in a media release. Mr Hogan, formerly of Auckland, lives in Wanaka and helped formed the trust in 2006, following a decision by Sir Tim Wallis' Alpine Deer Group to withdraw from organising the biennial air show. The trust organised the 2008 show and is planning the 2010 event. Mr Hogan said he was appointed to develop governance and management structures and he was confident the show was in good hands and sustainable for future generations. Deputy chairman Bill Gordon, of Omarama, said Mr Hogan had made an outstanding contribution "through his blend of anything-is-possible attitude, his business expertise and passion for warbird aircraft". The trust will discuss the appointment of a new chairman at its board meeting on June 23.
