Corokid66 I agree with you totally I am all for a return of the Macchis and new C-130's at some stage some...its a soft sell to the taxpayer and lets hope that happens and soon.
Lets also hope the country can drive forward with more enterprise and people who "think and live outside the square"and can turn the country around as one not divided.

The problem in New Zealand is that there are too many idiots here....They believe their own BS and try and ram it down everyone elses throats. NZ is full of people who want everything for free and dont want to lift a finger for it. As a tax payer, I am sick of forking out my hard earned money for these people to milk the system and then tell me what I am doing wrong and how to live my life.......I want a say in where my tax money goes (do you know that $10 of eack of our PAYE each week goes to DPB!) and why not spend some money on a quality defence force that we can be EVEN more proud of?!

vs yes I know how much goes towards the DPB,but there are alot of single mum and a few dadsthese who throught not fault of their own rely on our help.Lots of them have been beaten or had men throwing there C..k around town(cheating)there are kids involved here and solo parents today far outway the family unit numberswise.
Dont pick a fight with those who rely on some form of benefit.
I see the man who runs this site has no job and possible employers look at him as too old.
There are plenty of people with out a job who would do anything for one....they are not bluggers...just down on there luck.
And just think you could have a stroke tomorrow and rely on a sickness benefit,or be hit by a drunk driver and be on ACC....bet you would not care then how much tax is spent on welfare.
Just get real!

Congratulations SirBean/Smithy70, you have talked yourself into becoming the first member who was not a blatant spammer to be banned from the forum. I have deleted both your accounts.
I am all for free speech, we have a Defence Force that protects our rights as New Zealanders to freedom of speech. Hence the reason why I have reluctantly allowed you to post continuously with your somewhat unwelcome views. But you have now abused that privilege totally and have therefore both your accounts have been terminated. Don't bother trying to come back in a third guise. You won't last long.
Deleting a member's account is a seriously sad thing to do for me. God knows Craig and I have wanted to delete a few others over the years but we never have. We negotiate and reason. But no-one has ever achieved a -36 of karma, nor caused so much ill feeling in a thread, nor ignored warnings like Sirbean. Reluctantly this had to happen, perhaps he wanted it to happen. Tahnsk to all the other members here for their patience in this debate. You all have done very well to make a lot of good sense.

Well done Dave. I support your actions 100%. He was given fair warning. I've enjoyed the enlightened comments from genuine posters who stayed on topic. Particular kudos to skyhawkdon and corokid66 for putting a lot of well informed info out there that states a great case for Defence and the RNZAF in particular. (I've got to admit the sideways journey into the world of sirbean was entertaining to a point and Dave's post immediately after 'smithy70' gave me laugh out loud enjoyment.) I think it underlines the importance of keeping politics out of this forum and sticking to the subject of topic threads. To everyone - cheers and beers!!!

Thanks for the positive feedback guys, both here and via PM. It is hard to be democratic and allow free speech on a forum when some people decide to abuse the privilege of the freedom they have been given.
Perhaps this refers to both this thread and the overall freedom that our New Zealand Defence Force preserves for us.

Defence acquisition - as in recent "scandals" or as in future capabilities?
About that Hawk UAV data - is that flying 'round and 'round so to speak (to paint the 3D setting)? Or is it clever enough "to fill in the missing pieces" so to speak (to produce a 3D image from 2D)? Good stuff, nonetheless.
