The Air Force Museum at Wigram has new patches for sale. They also regularly come up on Trade Me and ebay but at rediculous prices usually.

Really...might have to dig some of mine out, but then again, something I can look back on and remember the good times when I'm old and grey(er). They also regularly come up on Trade Me and ebay but at rediculous prices usually.

Sorry Kiwirico but I'm not into swapping patches - like Les, the ones I have mean a lot to me from my years on the Squadrons, plus they are a bit tatty with real aircraft grease and grime on them!

KiwiRico, the shop at FAAM at NAS Nowra used to have Douglas Skyhawk patches for sale. However now that the RAN run the FAAM the shop is no longer online AFAIK. You may try contacting them (or someone who has spare patches) via the ADF-Serials Forum? FAAM = Fleet Air Arm Museum (new name for same old EXCELLENT museum which has had many different names over the years). www.navy.gov.au/Fleet_Air_Arm_Museum& www.navy.gov.au/Fleet_Air_Arm_Museum_Shop(not online though) ONLINE NAVY SHOP (nothing Skyhawk though): www.salt.asn.au/home.html

Having never actually worked on a Squardon, I never got any of those patches. The only one I ever received was one I got of the RAN when I was sent to Nowra & a stores Depot in Sydney to pack up all the AG4 parts and send them to NZ, when we brought the A4G's off the RAN. But like Don, I would not give it up:

Welcome to the forum KiwiRico. Don't forget that No. 14 Squadron also flew a handful of A-4K Skyhawks in the early 1970's.

From memory the original four TA-4K Skyhawks were allocated to No. 14 Squadron for a while, alongside their Vampires. Others here will have more detais.

Welcome to the forum KiwiRico. Don't forget that No. 14 Squadron also flew a handful of A-4K Skyhawks in the early 1970's. Yep, I found some sketchy information on that part, according to that information 14 Squadron flew 3 TA-4K and one A-4K for a short period. I don't know if those birds also received any 14 sqdn marks? Any from you? Cheers, KiwiRico

The aircraft were maintained by 75 Sqn and flown by 14 Sqn (or was it the other way around??). An odd arrangement that never worked with such a small fleet, hence it didn't last long and it reverted back to 75 Sqn doing their own training until the A-4Gs came along in 1984 and 2 Sqn was formed.
I have never seen any photos showing Skyhawks in 14 Sqn markings - has anyone? I have photos of them on the 14 Sqn line.
