Thanks for posting a link to those awesome images. You've made this Corsair fan very, very happy. By the way, the four bladed Corsair is an F4U-4: that particular model entered USN service in late-1944, and saw service at Okinawa.

Not a Corsair sorry but there was this little beauty I saw there earlier this year.

That's got to be the coolest P-40 flying in the USA these days I reckon, and probably the only one without the cliche'd AVG sharks moth 'John Wayne' scheme.
Great photo!! Love that big parot.

Yeah thank god no sharkmouth for a change. I liked the skull marking on one of the P40s that attended WOW 2002 or 2004.

That is a fantastic shot. It's amazing how different the two aircraft look with the very different colour schemes.
What is the desert P-40 representing? Is it a genuine USAAF P-40 scheme from the North African or Med campaign? If so, did they take over some of the RAF P-40's with the sharks mouhs, or did they copy the idea? I've never seen that one before.

Dave, it's a good representation of a 325th FG scheme (Checkertail Clan) but I've never seen one with the shark's mouth. Perhaps it represents a specific aircraft or the owner likes his P-40s with teeth?! So many Bearcats... ;D

On my list to visit while in CA/TX next Sept - looks like a bloody impressive spot that's for sure, especially if you are a fan of anything Grumman!
