Many thanks Dave for those fine pics. I've been trying to get up there for ages and are really chuffed to see such great work been done up there.
I know the Mosquitos the RNZAF had were all-silver and ex-RAAF, largely, but I think one of Ferrymead's Mosquitos was an ex-RAF 487[NZ] Sqn. aircraft from UK and may have arrived out here in it's wartime colours... I'd love to see that scheme done on one of these aircraft, as a tribute...
Many thanks again Cheers, Ross

Of the 88 RNZAF Mosquitos only about 9 were ex RAAF so that probably makes MOTATs one a even bigger rarity. The ones used by 75 were silver overall but most of the others that were stored were in camouflage.

Personally I'd love to see her in an "EG"-coded scheme as tribute to Kiwi pilots in the wartime RAF, but its their Mosquito and they can do as they wish...I'm just glad to see such a great job has been done in preserving her.
And Baz, hush! You just can't mention Fletcher and Mosquito in the same breath.....hey, that gives me an idea: an ag Mossie.....*picks up jacket and hastens away*

Wash your mouth out and go to the naughty step Zac, the very thought of a dung dropping Mosquito is just plain wrong.
Ross, you may be confusing one of the two Mosquito survivors at Ferrymead, which is ex-No. 487 Squadron, the MOTAT one is ex-RAAF and never flew operationally in the RNZAF.

I just looked at my photos and discovered I only have two others of the Mossie that I haven't already put up. I must have been too transfixed on the Hudson... Here they are: Nice work Dave they look really good.

Thank you shorty for that info on the Mossies, and thanks too Dave, you're quite right about the Ferrymead ones... It's just great to see these projects as they are progressing.
Cheers Ross
