TV3's news just had a really great item on about airshows in the USA which have been experiencing 20% more people attending airshows in 2009 over the 2008 figures. They say this is because people are choosing to attend entertainment in their own backyards due to the recession rather than travelling on holidays, etc.
It was great to see a positive report about airshows like that.
I'm wondering whether this means the NZ airshow scene will have a bumper season his coming summer too? I know they reckoned numbers were up at Omaka this Easter over previous airshows there.

I was reading a very similar article in the August Aviation News today, good to hear that the dreaded "GFC" hasn't affected all aspects of the aviation industry detrimentally.
