It appears that nz's SAS is now already operational in Afghanistan, having left last wednesday. Does anyone know how and what they left in and weither it was from Whenuapai or Auckland Airport? Just wondering if the yanks snuck in another c-17 into Whenuapai under darkness as they did last time for the boys last mission?

Such questions would be hugely operationally sensitive, and not in the interest of this forum to be answered. The SAS operates in and out of places all the time in secrecy, what you see in the media is just the tip of an iceberg and total nonsense in terms of politicians thinking they can demand accountability for deployments. Let's not put them at any further risk by asking about their transport arrangements.

Oh well.....let's hope the Americans don't blow the whistle and broadcast to the entire world what the SAS are up to like they did last time the boys were in Afghanistan, eh? ;D

It's not really a laughing matter. I don't see it as such. It's bad enough that politicians see fit to tell the public a little of what the SAS is doing.
