Subject to change but this is understanding of the Museum list Phil.
05 & 54 to Wigram 04 to Ashburton 16 to Omaka 01 to Classic Flyers 06 to MOTAT (may be 02?) 02 to NZ Warbirds (may be 06?) 09 to Wanaka 13 or 15 to Nowra (they have been offered a choice but not both!)

you would think the aussies would take 15, it being one of theirs originally.

I think it's sad that Nowra has not been offered two, so they can display one in RAN colours and one in RNZAF colours to reflect the years of No. 2 Squadron's deployment there.

Pretty sure they already have one done in their colours at the FAA Museum

OK cheers for that. That is good as '09 is in pretty good condition I hear and had a Check 2 servicing done on it a couple of years back by Safe Air... could be a potential flyer again one day...

So was 13 (in their original first batch). 15 was in their second batch but has a combat history in Vietnam so would be my pick. They hope to deliver whichever one they get before Christmas and to reassemble it after Christmas.

yes you are right Don. 10 + 4 does not equal 14 when the 4 have different serial numbers

Planned on a few days off without much aeroplane stuff and that lasted until about 7.30am this morning so will give up on that idea :-) Just a heads up for the plane spotters out there, Skyhawk 06 is heading north to Auckland from Woodbourne in the morning so if you are driving up north keep an eye out for it.

Saw a set of Skyhawk wings on a truck this afternoon after leaving course, wondered which one it was. Will have to go have a look when i'm back home this weekend..

Interesting use of the new LAV transporters. I didn't realise it stood for Lumps of Aerial Vehicle transporter

Odd isnt it that something that helped kill off the ACF is now helping move it to museums...

Mate of mine who drives a milk tanker spotted the "06" transport convoy rolling up SH27 near Waitoa yesterday. Taking the back roads to MOTAT...

They probably take the back roads to avoid overhead bridges and cables I guess, it looks pretty tall on that truck deck.

Is all that white goo on the fuselage just the latex coating waiting to be removed? Whats the best way to get that off without damaging the paintwork? Or will it be a very slow labourious job?

Well Anthony Galbraith's son Cameron came away from Omaka with a nice big sheet of it so no, not hard at all. I couldn't help myself and had to have a go and found it easy to peel a bit off once you got it started. Mind you that's not to say some areas will need a bit more effort.
