The Mossie looks fantastic. That has to be the world's shiniest Hudson right there too. Both aircraft look superb.

I have just got back from a quick visit to motat, the skyhawk is coming together quickly. Looks fantastic but reinforces the loss of the air combat wing and their sad withdrawl and storage/sale (yeah right) process. But so great to see one of these not so little rockets again..

On the architects' model for the proposed new hangar, which was on display in the main hangar for some years, it showed that in the space from where the Belfast hangar was shifted, a new smaller building was to be erected. Does anyone know if this is still planned, and what it is for? A cafe perhaps? Or storage?

I made it to MoTaT at lunchtime, As expected, the other exhibits were moved closer together, while the Skyhawk is put together at the far end of the hangar. I'm glad to see that there are more rope barriers around the aircraft, and the AV display in front of the Lanc was operating again. Click through to Flickr for more shots. There cool photos Errol. I am going there tomorrow either around 11am or after 2pm as I am going through the tunnel at 12.30. Wouldn't it be cool if they could have put together the devon whilst they are there. I was surprised that it wasn't there when I returned from the US.

Superb to see and a historic occasion. Thanks for sharing these Errol.
MOTAT has something of a No. 75 Squadron theme going on now with the Lancaster in AA markings (on one side), plus the No. 75 Sqn Skyhawk, and a Mosquito and a Vampire (which they didn't operate but you know what i mean). Now they need a Canberra, a Lincoln, a Wellington and a Stirling!

The blokes knocked off for an early smoko, as they are progressing well, and need to leave stuff to do tomorrow! Fuselage sections will be mated tomorrow morning. After smoko, they let a few of us get in the cockpit. Someone's having a good day! by errolgc, on Flickr AvGeek having a great day! by errolgc, on Flickr Thanks for taking the photo Richard.

You look a bit big for that cockpit Errol. Nice shot though. Is the little girl in the helmet yours? She looks like a budding pilot in the making.

Well here goes the forums latest skyhawk pilot, grounded. SkyhawkhawkRichard ;D One thing lacking at MoTaT was that you couldn't buy Dons book but they are starting to get a good collection of books for sale. One other thing I did notice was that the Wasp is over in the restoration hangar. I wonder!
