Crikey, you could buy a Mosquito for less than that.

Truth be told I'd much rather have a Mosquito for that price. Even if it was a TA-4 I'd still take the Mosquito.

Yes well if all those Spit's come to fruition in Burma that will drop the price of spifires......, so you could have your own strike wing of 6 spit's for one A-4-C Skyhawk yeah rite

Rubbish, the Spitfire value will not be affected at all.

I agree with Dave - IF the Spitfire saga comes to anything, they will probably only be reassembled/restored as and when buyers want them. The value is unlikely to change, as P-51 prices are on a par to Spitfires, and there are about 3 times as many of them flying....

Hmm, and here was I thinking Wasa's suggestion had a touch of Mangatainoka in it.
I could just imagine a Flight of those long legged pilots and their Spitfires.

I would think they will be in Florida seeing that they are registered. They are most definitely in Florida, at Draken's HQ in Lakeland. Heard that there have been some RNZAF / SafeAir folks there already. Have been promised a couple of photos, will share when I get them.

Would be one hell of a 'in your face liebour' if one flew at an airshow down here. Oh yes and even better if it dropped a couple thousand kilos of cow manure on some labour party mps & ex mps. ;D
