Top Gun is being bought out in 3D. Due out next month I think. I'd go and watch it if they changed the F5s to geuine MiGs.

The missus was watching Entertainment Tonight before the aussie rubbish before the news and it is the original remastered for 3D. My ears perked up when they mentioned the movie. so I paid a bit of attention.

Phew. Even when I was a kid the Tiger II's used to bug me. Now even more so. I know they couldn't get MIG's, but I still couldn't not see them for what they were. Like Harvard's for FW190's.... I can't turn that off.
Might take the missus to see it tho, the lovey dovey parts seem to keep the Sheila's happy too.

Awesome, we get to see a egotistical midget try to latch on to a hot-looking lesbian all over again - but now in 3D! ;D
In all honesty, how much of the movie will be improved by being remastered in 3D? In my opinion, about 1/5th of Top Gun is okay, while the rest is absolute tripe.

ah come on, bet you couldn't wait to race down to see the first screening. Bet you were first in cue, with you aviators on and flying jacket showing off some patches.

A rubbish film, with a rubbish lead actor, and apart from some , few, genuine air to airs, an absolutely crap film aimed at the lowest common denominator! Seeing it once was enough for me.

I claim some fame as have never having seen it; it simply didn't appeal and even then, I couldn't look at Cruise without wanting to spew!!! And now he's my favourite fictional character, Jack Reacher..... Hells bells and buckets of blood!!!

Beagle, Like Avatar, after you did race down you wondered what the hell you were running for. In Top Gun its worth it to see the A-4's. :-)
Star Wars is being done in 3d now, first one was in cinemas last year. GI Joe Retaliation was stopped moments before release last year to be redone in 3D. Just time and software I guess.

Would love to see 'Reacher' (i have all the Lee Childs novels and they're great) but just can't bring myself to... It actually didn't get a bad write-up on IMDB....maybe once the DVD is released... Pamela Anderson maybe, yep could go along with that, but imagine Dolly Parton running in 3D ;D Heh heh...never mind the 3D...just running is enough...anyone remember "Best Little sleeperhouse in Texas"? She was rather cute... Hmm...thats interesting...wont let me type sleeperhouse (horhouse) hee hee

Geez you guys, that movie has some of the best air to air cinematography ever shot, even if they didn't use real MiGs. Who cares if the script/lead actors/vulgar product placement/cheesy 80's soundtrack/jingoistic misogyny sucks? OK I must be the only Top Gun fan on this forum...

Yep, bought the anniversary edition DVD a few months ago out of a cheapy bin for $10 or so. Still remembering watching it on the big screen in Taupo as part of a double feature one rainy day with Back to the Future.
Watched Jack Reacher a couple of weeks ago, havent read any of the books but thoroughly enjoyed the movie.
