A terrible selfie of me with Matt Henderson in his gorgeous NZAI CT/4A Airtrainer Did you get to fly her Dave? Do any aeros? Nice to see the CT4 getting love over there. And is that the Firefly you are sitting in doing the interview?

No, and no. I was happy enough enjoying the ride and the chat with Matt.
Yes that is a Firefly, one of my favourite fighter aeroplanes.

It's The Day Before Australia's biggest warbird airshow. How do you feel, Dave?

It's now all over when I read this, and I'm very tired. But a good day. Too damn hot. Some great aeroplanes, some I'd never seen before, and I made lots of new friends.

James and I have been pretty flat out the past few days so sorry for the lack of updates, but we've been working hard and gathering a lot of interesting interviews. Lately these have included super interviews for the show with Judy Pay, Stephen Death, Mark Awad (Australian Warbird Association President), Stewart Wilson (Author and magazine editor), Gavin Conroy (photographer), Bevan Dewes (WWI warbird pilot), Matt Austin (ANA historian and Moorabbin Treasurer), Andy Bishop (Temora Chief Engineer), Jamie Croker (Treloar Conservation Centre engineer), and we've recorded some material in the wonderful Australian War Memorial Museum in Canberra. This morning we also caught up with Craig Brankin (moderator Corsair67) which was great (no interview there). Today we have arrived back in NSW and we start the last phase of the tour. Listen for a live update to the tour on tomorrow's Wings Over New Zealand Live Show on Warbird Radio, at www.warbirdradio.com

Great to meet the man behind the legend. Hope your West Island trip was a good one, Dave. ( Even when foreign yellow things added some background clutter ! ) OF

It has been an amazing adventure Mick. Not quite over yet either. It was really nice to meet you and your wife (who's name I have sadly forgotten, meeting too many people to recall all the names!)

Thanks. I am home, and I am completely cream crackered!!
What an amazing, awesome, fantastic and enlightening trip!! I have just been on the phone telling Mum all about it!
Thanks to all those great people who were involved in making the Wings Over Australia Tour happen, and to all the fantastic people along the way who willingly took part in the many interviews that will make up the series. We have about 30 Wings Over Australia shows recorded! That is right, Thirty!!
I will get onto the editing very soon and start releasing the shows as soon as I have some strength back. There are so many great stories within, and from such a variety of people with interesting roles in Australian aviation. Keep an eye on the forum here, and on the WONZ Show and WOA Show Facebook pages.

Wings Over New Zealand Show Episode 90 is Now Online! WINGS OVER AUSTRALIA!!The "Wings Over Australia" sub-series of the WONZ Show starts right here, right now, with the first episode in the series that James Kightly and I recorded during the epic 17-day tour of Australia in November being available at the link below: Our guest is Keith Webb, who for many years has devoted his time and skills to filming and recording interviews with Australian Air Force, Army and Navy veterans. He has also made several aviation DVD's. He gives a fascinating insight into the recording and preserving of first-hand history before it disappears. www.cambridgeairforce.org.nz/WONZShow/2015/12/episode-90-woa-keith-webb/

A pleasure Dave. Don't worry - she'll still cook you dinner when you return for WOA Pt II "The QLD Leg and Grand Tour of Bases, Museums and Mystery Project Hangars". Enjoy the rest - and the memories. Mick
