Pearl Harbor Open Day Dec 7th Ardmore airfield. As part of the day’s activities the airfield will be closed for 45 minutes. In this time slot some aircraft will do some display practice.
As soon as the aircraft list has been confirmed I will let you know. This promises to be a great day; oh and let’s hope the weather plays the game.
Hope to see you all on the 7th

Thanks for the heads up Simon, this sounds great. I will try to make it up there for this, as it might make a nice birthday treat for me (yes, I was born on a 'day of infamy' ).

Thanks Simon. Bruce and I are working on seeing if we can make it. I have asked Mike too but he's unfortunately away that weekend at Coromandel so cannot make it, much to his disappointment.

Cheers

Cheers Hi Colin, Looking forward to catching up with yourself, Simon and the gang. Have a meeting in Wellington on December 5 so will stay an extra night and fly up the next day. It will be nice to wander around Ardmore without having to rush around.

you are right Stu it will be a good day and will be nice to see some practice flying before the upcoming season. Might see if a few of the local Warbird fans can make it up as well.

Hi Simon, This sounds great. The DC-3 can be around to create an expensive noise, and be a tarmac attraction. What time are you looking at? We need to factor in our regular scenic flight. I have 1940's music and Dave Cowies Stereo if you want for your hangar...
Coffee? Would you like DC-3 Hosties in uniform to serve it? I guess you won't be doing flash canapes so what about the DAK crew do a sausage sizzle and Ice cold sprite or coke...? Boring, boring food but the public will love it....
Let me know and I will action that . All Proceeds to providing DC-3 Flight Gift Vouchers to Ronald Mc Donald House Kiddies and their families who are away from home, to fly with us over the Christmas season.

Best regards, Jessica

Does anyone know what time AR will close for the flying part of the open day? I'm planning on bringing the Yak up from Hamilton if possible.

It is still in the hangar. There were a few other niggly things that (now the pressure to get flying has been reduced) we thought we'd fix up while the cowls were off. Also we're almost due for our annual inspection which means the next flight will probably be just a hop over to Aeromotive in Hamilton for a couple of days in the workshop. We should be right for the 7th (fingers crossed) Airplanes... they're worse than boats!

Does anyone know what time AR will close for the flying part of the open day? Good point. I've extended my booking of the CT/4 by 2 hours just in case although in doing so, I also discovered it's in maintenance at Ardmore at the moment. Fingers crossed that it's ready in time. Being the good citizen I am, I've volunteered to ferry it back to North Shore when it's up and running ;D
