Last time I was up at Ardmore the Mustang was in the Warbirds hangar but the prop was off and a whole stack of panels were removed. It may be undergoing some heavy duty checks.
Anyone had an update about airfield closure times on the day?

December the 7th Warbirds Open Day As you all know the New Zealand Warbirds association is having an open day on the 7th of December, this is a great opportunity to see all of the Warbirds aircraft out of the hangars at the same time, most will also be flying. There is a short closure of Ardmore in the early afternoon for an hour to allow some of the aircraft to practice their displays for the coming season. The focal point will be in front of New Zealand Warbirds club room.
New Zealand Warbirds association is seeking volunteers to help on the day; if this is you send me an email with your contact number. Simon Gault: thunderm@xtra.co.nz
On the day the tarmac in front of the Thunder Mustang hangar will be roped off; so you will need to tell who ever is on the barrier you are a member of “Wings over New Zealand Aviation Forum” and are guests of the “Thunder Mustang Group”. The coffee machine will be on and you’re a welcome to leave bags in the hangar. So please come by and say hello; we will be flying throughout the day. The more the better; perhaps a forum meet might be a good idea as well?

"Anyone who puts their name on the list (by e-mail or other method) to help out on the day and turns up at the appointed briefing time- 0900 hrs will go into a draw for a free half hour in Harvard 92 , which John Walton has generously offered to provide."

I have mentioned to some people about this open day and they wanted to know where to meet so have taken some photos for easy identification for those unfamiliar of where the Thunder Mustang resides. Left hand side of pic "meet here" and an overall shot showing the warbirds hangar. TMG out on the apron. See you there. Colin

Thanks for the orientation photos, they are handy. Just realised that I hadn't put my hand up for this, I'll see you there.
Dave, I'll bring you a CD with photos.

I'm uncertain about attending at this time. I have spent time the last few weekends doing a rating on Tecnam JAX, so I'm getting a bit behind on other tasks. Doesn't appear to be anything new scheduled to be on display, so its going to be a case of a decision on the day.

I will be in Auckland that day but as yet have no idea whether I can make it. What time is everyone meeting at the hangar?
