Saw it up close at ATC last night, interesting aircraft. Very clean. Can't wait to see it fly in person.

I can't recommend the Omaka aviation heritage museum enough, although that's up the top of the south. If you have no plans to be up here then Wigram is a great choice.

No! Had I not been in assembly I likely would have seen it climbing out. Good to know all went well, can't wait to see pictures of it.

Hi all, I have been looking for information on 23 Squadron in and around the time of WWII, and cannot find all that much. Does anyone have interesting facts, timelines, any info at all that they could share with me? Such as where they served, when they formed, disbanded and so forth. Thanks.

It'd be great if they somehow got a spad in...not aware of any in New Zealand but the Americans flew them near the end of World War One. Highly unlikely for CF, yes. But one can hope

I see your point, but I've already done one individual research assignment with two case studies, each having seven perspectives from different people and places. I've done three perspectives on this, and I'm getting stuck with who to ask. Not to mention that I still have another case study to do. So I very definitely am getting out there and asking, but I just want one easy perspective. Perhaps I should have explained better. Also, I don't care what qualifications you have- Its a public perspective, just say what you think.

But I need your help here. I am doing a Cambridge course for school that my class does instead of the usual YR 10 (4th Form) Social Studies curriculum. For this I need to gather perspectives, and right now I am doing a case study on the relation between gender and educational attainment -essentially, why are boys acheiving at a lower level than girls. I would like a public perspective, and what better place to get it from than here? So if you want to help, all you need to do is put a few sentences here explaining your beliefs on why boys are failing/girls are excelling. It is completely anonymous.

I would suggest going to the RoF forum at www.riseofflight.com. Best online community I've seen (apart, of course, from this one). They have a customer support forum and are usually quick to respond. Or email them at rof@777studios.net. Your computer should be able to run it, but if it can't- the forum is your friend. Lastly, so it isn't a shock to you if you didn't know already, you will have to go through a few updates before being able to play. No matter how frustrated you get, stick with it. It is so, so worth it.

Today we started training for the Davy Jones Memorial Drill competition. The three NCOs in charge reminded us as we stood to attention on the parade ground beside the runway, that we could not look around. Even if a RNZAF Herc came in and landed. Now we don't often get RNZAF flying over us in Nelson. So guess what decided to come directly overhead about two minutes later? Yes, a Hercules. Of all times. Anyway, they let us watch it for 30 seconds as it did a low pass over the runway.

Thats a fine ad right there For some reason I laughed a bit when I imagined the pilot in a SE5, struggling to keep up with the motorcycle.

The U.S Ambassador is a nice guy, he gave us a talk when we went to the embassy for a social studies trip to Wellington. You Marines have mirrors for shoes!

Good turnout this morning at the Gore dawn service and a very nice RNZAF three ship King Air formation flypast shortly after. Would they be the same three twin engines I saw over Nelson this morning?
