I am sure you are right.
I enjoyed 2 shows ago the BE2 and 504. Did they come over the ditch?
Nice too see something a little different

Looks like a couple of changes - the C-130 has bit the dust but a F27 is now on the bottom of the list!! Surely not the F27 in the flying list?
Still a very good line up although I was (and still am ) hoping that there will be a few more intersting machines in the WW1 section - FE2, RE8,Snipe DV111 or Albatross would be awesome

No news about participation - not too long to go now.
It is hard to see anything that is pulled out of the hat making up for the mozzie heading overseas.
Still, a standard line up at Omaka is none too shabby.

No updates of participation on the website.
I imagine two aircraft that won't make it are: The mossie - off to the States before Easter? The Catalina - corrosion problems still?
Anyone know for sure?

Omaka is a great show for aircraft but sadly let down by the ground theatre. What a load of pointless amateur drivel.
I think they should stick to the concept of a 'air show'! as that is superb - I personally enjoy the flying at Omaka more than Wanaka

I find old NZ Wings magazines such a useful archive resource to look back through. It really was a superb magazine, particularly back in Ross Macpherson's days. I stopped buying it when the new editor/owner took over. I find it very poor these days - pretty pictures but rarely a decent story. The title makes me laugh as most of the articles are from outside the Pacific. Also, I found many of the articles were written in a very happy clappy tone , then looking further into the magazine you could see an advert for the aircraft/ flight school etc. Obviously If a postive article was written , advertising would follow. Certainly not what it used to be!

Hi,
Anyone thinking of going for the day from Wellington and want someone to share fuel?
I am planning coming on the ferry but renting a car for the day is not a go as it is impossible to pick up and drop off at useful times.
Cheers
Andy

I suppose they are still technically tankers

When was the last time a US combat type visited NZ? since ANZUS crashed and burned? Tragically I doubt that the USMC will bring one of their Harvest HAWK add-ons on their Herc. No it's a tanker instead

The problem is mainly warships which don't declare if they are or not.
I was thinking about the media though.
Can imagine them calling it a B-52 nuclear bomber. It would be headline news and bad PR for the air force and the USAF
