My most memoriable aviation experience (and I'm still buzzing from it) was on the Monday following the '08 WOW show when Rob organised me a ride in his Su29 with none other than the man himself....Jurgis Kairys. Before ...and after....still smiling!

There might be something in here from when I followed Dave to the Brian Langley last year....
...or here from this year's event...

...and yet the Wellington City Council want to erect a huge sculpture on the Hutt motorway depicting Maui's fish hook, that includes a laser pointing up into the sky (I think that's the fishing line), that just happens to be right on finals for 16!!!

That's Lachie Falconer peeking through the spy hole...he's an Air Traffic Controller from Christchurch Tower in his day/night job...he also worked for me in Wanaka Tower during Warbirds Over Wanaka for the last 3 or 4 shows. In fact he took me from QN to WF in the old girl... Departure from QN Lachie's second from the left (on my right)

Yeh...it's amazing watching kids "discover" flying...I've been lucky to capture some of my own boy's first experiences...here's one, his first (semi-) aerobatic ride in the Pitts...it's a shame you couldn't hear the intercom!
He was 9 at the time.

Yip...you gotta ensure that the lens is clean...'cos it's a shame to see EVERY photo tainted in that manner. Friend of mine suffered the same fate at WOW 06...and there were some otherwise stunning shot in his album

'twas all a beatup to make NZALPA look bad...truth of the matter is that NZALPA has been trying to make Airways do something about the new legislation for about 6 month whilst Airways has been looking for ways NOT to comply...even going to the ministers and asking if they really had to comply (you don't have to be a brain surgeon to work out the answer - kinda like asking the teacher if you can smoke in the toilets!!)...only then did they start to take it seriously...somewhat too late to really do anything about it.

...and actually on the day before the Open Day the aeroclub paid tribute to Graeme Opie on his retirement as an Air Traffic Controller. He spent 41 years in the job with 33 years at Hamilton!! RFS also paid the appropriate tribute Graeme after his flight with RogerC in ZK-WCD

Stitching didn't work too well, but here it is anyway... P750 = PAC XL750

In short ... no. They operate survey aircraft all over the place, mainly P750s I believe.
