Just a quick question. I see in the pics some great ones of the F27 doing an awesome display? Who does that belong to? Is it the same NZ Post one I hear go over my house at 10.30pm every week night?
Wouldn't have thought there are too many airworthy ones left in NZ.

How did the Wellingtonian find out Chris? Did you tell them, or did some neighbours dob you in? Or did they see it on the forum? I sent them a pic from my work email addy of it after getting hassled to do it by work colleagues. Thought nothing would come of it and then 5 days later a phone call arrives.... They were very keen to do a story.

The latest isn't looking good " The plane missing in Antarctica with three Canadian men on board is feared to have crashed into a mountainside.
A former executive with the Calgary-based Kenn Borek Air, which owns the Twin Otter aircraft, says a computer track of the plane's flight shows it coming to a sudden stop at just under 4000 metres.
Former general manager Steve Penikett said today that a computer program monitoring the plane tracked a dip, climb and a sudden stop, The Globe and Mail reported.
Penikett, who is now based in Kabul, Afghanistan, watched on his computer as the plane was detected flying at just under 4000m, dropped to 2700m, then climbed back to its former height, travelling at 140 knots (260kmh), before suddenly recording "zero air speed".
All of this happened "within minutes," he said.
"It's my candid opinion that this aircraft flew into the rocks," Penikett said.
"Anything's possible and again I hope for the best. But I've been through quite a few of these and it doesn't look very good to me."

What happened to the P-3 display on Sunday? One high speed pass (with the bomb-bay doors open !!) and buggered off. Maybe we weren't meant to hear on the commentary that "the P-3 has suffered a fault"....in the background. Ha, maybe they sheared one of those doors off at 400 knots !!

Here's a quick movie I did. Apologies for the quality, it was only my hand-held camera and it's hard to pan flying aircraft. (click on the pic)

Well I had a blast going there on Sunday. Perfect weather and some great flying. Good to meet up with Dave H again after a long time and also see Ryan. The Mossie was the star of the show but there is actually one (little) aircraft that STOLE my heart and I just couldn't get away from !!

I had an idea on a C-130 Herk or an M-1 Abrams tank but settled on a nondescript chopper. Thought the kids would like it more. Besides, the Herk's wings would have taken up too much of the front yard !!
