I'm unsure of this, only got told about it being here for 2 days, but my money is on that it would be heading down south to Antartica. I assume it's the right time of the year to enable this??

I also read it a long time ago. Whole heartedly agree is a good read, also make sure you read Air America by the same author. This is the real story of what the movie of the same name was loosely based on.

Last night, there was an excellent documentary on TV3 (I think it was Inside NZ) about NZ "contractors" working in Iraq.
Man, what a place !!! People in trucks with guns, US military everywhere. The person who was being interviewed sat in the Merc with a pistol at the ready while talking. They get paid quite highly but at a price. He said that the diplomats will only go with NZ contractors as they can trust them 100%.
Anyone else here see it?

Bridgy and I were watching the Travel Channel on Sky when we came across a segment on NZ (as from an overseas point of view). So, we thought, what the hell, lets have a look. What we both found extremely interesting was a family that run a motel in Waitomo. What's great about that I hear you say. Well,...the motel is a retired Bristol Freighter !!!! Has anyone ever stayed there? We've definitely put it on our to do list.

True but this was completely removing the top wing without anything happening to the Nieuport's undercart. I always thought they were fairly flimsy (going by those early movies of biplanes landing on aircraft -carriers)

Heya,
Been a while since I've posted, but getting there now. Hey, Bridgy & I got out "Flyboys" last night.
Is an awesome movie with great graphics (esp with the Zeppelin, 0/400's and Gothas). The Nieuports stole me though. I will make one some day, I will !!!
Just 2 things which let it down slightly.
First thing is it had the usual typical love story and the second thing is in a dogfight, there was a scene where the Nieuport runs out of ammo, so he rams the Fokker Dr.1’s upper wing with his undercarriage, taking the wing off while the undercart is still intact. Now, my belief is that a Fokker Triplane’s top wing would be far stronger than a Nieuport 11’s undercart. What you reckon?

His mother has an unfortunate name....I see a TV Show Host coming out... "Witness tampering" - read: "I will kill you if you testify" most likely. Anyway, the pr1ck gets everything he deserves !!!

I guess I was right to some extent "The Hind is a difficult and unforgiving helicopter to fly. Unless a pilot is very careful, he can cause it to fly out of control or cause the rotors to collide with the tailboom. Although the Hind is fast, it is not very maneuverable, and this is a problem when flying at high speed close to the ground. In addition, a fully loaded Hind cannot hover and has to make a rolling takeoff. The Hind's performance suffered in the hot, thin air of Afghanistan." From www.centennialofflight.gov/essay/Rotary/Hind/HE18.htm

Granted, but I was referring to normal flight characteristics of the Mil Hind. I know that it was designed as a gunship and a troop carrier but didn't have enough grunt for both so became one or the other. Maybe I'm getting a little off-topic here.
