Goodmorning all here,
Yesterday I received the very nice book "Topped Gun - Requiem for the Skyhawk" written by Ross Ewing, a very interesting and in my opinion detailed history on the A-4K in RNZAF.
In the last parts I was shocked how Labour Party "raped" the RNZAF and it's defence..... Over here in Europe there has never been much written about the whole thing but the book revealed the whole story, really bad. However, my question is clear and simple..... is there any chance that when another Government comes to NZ the combat squadron(s) will be re-activated???
I also understood that SkyhawkDon is writting another book about the Skyhawk, right?
Many thanks guys for answers,
KiwiRico

Hi guys,
I am looking for more details about the crash of Strikemaster Mk88 NZ6367 which was lost on July3, 1985 when crashing into hillside at Waiau. Does any one know what caused the accident?
Many thanks,

Speaking about the Be.350 series; I think it would be a good idea to have also two maritime patrol equiped versions for short distance patrols and fisheries control..... so the P-3K can be used for other more better suited tasks to save money What is your idea about that? Bye, KiwiRico

Welcome to the forum KiwiRico. Don't forget that No. 14 Squadron also flew a handful of A-4K Skyhawks in the early 1970's. Wow! I didn't know that! I guess only for a short time then? About the patches, please don't send me your only patches, as I do understand they are precious patches with sweet memories However, if you know some people who doo have patches for trade, or wish to sell them, notify me please Thanks for understanding, your Dutch KiwiRico

Word has it that the seasprites are from the states and that its a pretty much done deal. Okay, so do you know how many SH-2 are involved? Is there any chance the RNZAF will obtain the surplus SH-2G from Australia? Cheers, KiwiRico

Very interesting story..... are there more pictures available from this deployment? Did the crew also flew any missions in A-4's, or just as observers there???
Cheers,
KiwiRico

Many thanks for reply, I thought that the Raytheon T-6 Texan II was also mentioned once (perhaps in combination with Be.350?). Hope for some nice aircraft......
Cheers all there,

I would like to know what type of aircraft would be ideal for this job? I think the PILATUS PC-21 or Raytheon T-6 are the best options, right? Any idea what are the plans about this subject?
Delays in the formulation of a tender for advanced trainers have led to the Royal New Zealand Air Force extending a lease on five Beechcraft King Air B200s by a year.
"The request for proposals for new advanced trainers is being worked on right now, but there is a slight delay in getting it processed," says the country's defence ministry, adding: "it is now likely to come out in 2009. As a result, the lease on the King Air B200s will be extended by a year."
