I'm surprised there's no response...

We were talking just the other day about C180 BJY and its two whoopsies in Queenstown - or was that on FB?

Quite a lot of choppering done today around Wainuiomata and some rather long ferry flights - HFA WAG-WLG and IDN "somewhere near Waiouru" - WLG.
Glad I'm not paying the ferry - I'll bet the taxpayer (or more probably Greater Wellington ratepayer) is.

Somewhat embarrassed to say I haven't read "Taking Off" Peter - is it still available? None on TradeMe at present

Once upon a time there was a Ceres under a tarp over there. I think the one the went to Riverhead?

Something tells me BJY went on her head twice for the same reason... I'm sure I read it in someone's book? Maybe Don Nairn's "Golden Wings and Webbed Feet"?

I've just received a very welcome email from Dave Paull including a couple of photos - NZ2430 is the faux serial. Dave reminded me too that there were a couple of US-registered fuselages as well as a lot of ZK DHX and I think some of DSA.
Did someone say (elsewhere) that this collection is now at Mercer?

Just an aside - the property "Bloomfield" has just been sold after many, many years in the same family - the Franklins, of Central Hawke's Bay Aero Club fame

The AIL project was last known (to me anyway) as being with the late Keith Trillo.
Anyone know where she is now?

Hi all. Any Airline experts out there?
Why does a B777 operate as NZ1011 AKL - CHC Mon/Wed/Fri evenings but not appear on their website or on CHC Arrivals? Where does it go to next?
If you have a look at history on FlightAware, they got a bit of holding practice the other night - like, 8 laps! Incredibly accurate too.

I recall being woken by my parents to see "an Aurora" in the Eastern Sky (from Upper Hutt) but I would have thought it was earlier than 1962 - maybe late 50s? It was vivid and very memorable
I have since had my memory questioned many times by nay-sayers who refute that an Aurora would ever be seen in our latitude so perhaps this was it?

Now out of Lord Howe for Coolangatta but FlightAware would have it that she's a DH82!

Has the aircraft changed hands or perhaps have he and it both buggered off back to Aussie?

My go-to for rego history says it was originally not allocated or not taken up and in 4/93 the rego was allocated to a Kavanagh E180 with the s/n KB-109 which was WFU in 6/16. No previous registration is given
