Nice pictures hairy.Shame about the text in the middle though.Ruins the picture somewhat. Hi Damon, I agree with you about the text. While I am happy to provide copies of pictures I have to people who ask, it really annoys me when people right click the pictures I post and post them elsewhere with no acknowledgement after cropping the name off when it is on the edge. If you can think of another way to stop this happening I am all ears.

Damon, what other DC3's here did Paddy Slattery have up for auction? He never told me there were others, and where are they? Here is DNF lastnight which is still at Warnervale. There is only 2 carcases left at Bankstown, MMD & UPQ which are due to be transported to Molong shortly. The others are stored outside down there and will more than likely rot. Buzz Buggy will be flying later this year after a rebuild from the ground up. Ray Molyneux has done a fantastic job with this one. Air Ag Beaver Guru John Land showing me around this lovely DC3

It is a shame that you have to put the text in the picture and I can certainly understand how annoying it must be to see your pictures pirated and posted elsewhere. I believe there is a Proboards Script that can be used to prevent right clicking and copying the pictures, but that will not stop a really determined person!

I don't mind my website photos being used elsewhere, it's when I don't get a credit that pisses me off. The amount of time it takes to acquire photos and info and post and maintain it for all to enjoy deserves mention. I watermarked all my photos but all I got was complaints that it spoilt the photo so you can't win.

I believe there is a Proboards Script that can be used to prevent right clicking and copying the pictures, but that will not stop a really determined person! I gave up long ago and just accept the fact that any photographs I post online are going to be grabbed by other people. There is absolutely no way you can stop someone from saving any images you post online. The way browsers work....if you can view an image, then your browser has temporarily saved it to your hard-drive and disabling right-clicks won't stop bugger-all. All a person has to do is locate where the image has been temporarily saved to, or else save the entire webpage, then get into the files folder associated with the saved webpage and dig whatever they want out of that. Hence the reason why I have given up and just shrug my shoulders. The only precaution I take is to never upload the full-resolution version of any image file of mine. That way, if things ever came to a legal dispute (if I discovered someone or some organisation using one of my photos for commercial gain without permission — the only thing that would really piss me off), I could challenge them to produce the full-sized file. I would be able to, but they wouldn't, which would tend to prove ownership of the image as belonging to me.

I also load photos of re-enactors direct to their boards at smaller size and without my normal semi-transparent corner watermark. I'm happy for the re-enactor groups to use them for their websites (and will provide higher -res if appropriate, and just ask that they give me an appropriate link). www.gatheringdarkness.co.nz/forum/gallery.php?c=50Hairy, speaking of semi-transparent, I set my watermark at 60% transparency, I think this makes it somewhat less obtrusive, but still readable. Hopefully there is a transparency or opacity setting for your text layer/box in whatever photo software you are using.

KiwiBeaver.I am not sure what the rego's were of the aircraft being sold.Atleast one seemed to be a canidate for a flyer. It was a possibility from what the auctioneer was saying. The link for the auction is no longer active so cant go back and check.Slatery Auctions Australia were the sellers on behalf so might be best to approch them as a starting point. It would appear from searching around the net that VH-CWS would be the best bet if you wanted to own a DC-3 right now.Needs a maint.release but eng.prop times are good.

As for the text on photos being posted .I cant add much more.Have had my own experiances where pictures have not been credited by individuals, and heard many others.Might be worth a different thread from this one. I sympathize with you hairy and others where your images have been used elsewhere and not credited.I guess once it reaches the internet its almost fair game unfortunately.

Folks VH-MMD and VH-UPQ belong to the Australian Aviation Museum at Bankstown so they won't be going to Molong. However, they will presumably go to Camden when the AAM relocates. Interesting thing about these aeroplanes is that they have consecutive c/ns. VH-DNF (NTU) is due to be transported from Warnervale to Molong in early 2010. There it will join VH-MIN, VH-DNA, VH-BPN and VH-PWN (#2) which are already on site. I was advised yesterday by someone who is actually trying to buy a DC-3 that VH-CWS is available with a maintenance release for AU$135,000. Further details on: www.dc3.adastron.comRgds Ron

Does anyone know what are the plans for the airframes once the have reached Molong? Is there an organization or a individual that has some ideas on restoring or displaying them.Or perhaps something more sinister? Any news welcome.

That's VH-MMD in the bottom photo. It, along with UPQ are now the property of the Museum and will remain there. They will both be restored as a static display. The others that were there, BPN and PWN are now at Molong, near Orange along with DNA. DNF is still at Warnervale and is for sale. Peter Starr has no association with the Museum now. He gave one DC3 to the farmer at Molong as payment to get the others transported there. At this stage, all Peter's spares are due to go to a buyer in Europe.

Thanks for the pictures aeromedia. Its nice to see that the airframes will be looked after in some way.Your pictures really show what state their in. Kiwibeaver, did Peter have much in the way of spares? I guess it take a lot to keep the old girls going.
