Thanks for posting those pics guys, I too like the Beaver....not quite a Fletcher, but exciting nonetheless! Thanks to nzav8a's pic from 1982 I've been inspired to repaint a Flight Simulator Beaver as AZB: Check out some screen captures of her in the Flight Simulators sub-board.

Not quite a Fletcher Zac? C'mon...... ;D take a Beaver for a fly and there'll be no comparison, trust me. Check out my Dave Bates page here: www.kiwibeavers.com/DaveBates.html for some early photos, a lot of WAW's CPE in action when with Airwork and flown by Col Bolgar at Omihi.

A good Beaver movie is Six Days Seven Nights with Harrison Ford. He actually bought a Beaver around this time and still has it. He is also featured on The Immortal Beaver DVD as well, available here: www.theimmortalbeaver.com/The Beaver with no C/N that was used in Six Days Seven Nights And Harrison Fords Beaver in his Santa Monica hangar Photos copyright © Neil Aird

That one of Harrison Ford's is a lovely example. Is the biplane behind it his too? I know he used to fly a helicopter too, though from memory he crashed it.

Digging through my photos of Ag wagons found these of AZB when operated by Griffin Ag air first time around. Was used on crop spraying while Ag-cat SJA was being repowered with a PT6 turoprop. Spraying Potatoes at Opiki 1992. Note Micronairs, these added a bit of extra drag to the old girl. Flown here by Hallet. Speading urea at Halcombe 1993. Flown here by Mike Cronin. Tucked up in bed after a hard days spreading at home base Kiaranga. I worked for Hallet as a loader driver. It was always a pleasure to go for a fly on the last load. An amazing aeroplane to fly, and to see first hand spraying and topdressing from the cockpit!

So has the prodigal Beaver returned to our shores? I can't wait to see photos of her return....and especially into historic colours.

Not sure if AZB is amongst these, but thought it was appropiate for this thread. Taken at Palmerston in 1972. Attachments:

My tiny contribution to the thread. Taken at an Airshow Christchurch late 80s I think to celebrate RNZAF 75 years
