Anyone now the situation with the Spitfire? I know it has flown, but what are the plans for the Open Day? Is a demo flight hoped for/scheduled/expected/unlikely/not expected?

If all goes to plan I shall be there for this Open Day with Kerry (fockewulf). Maybe we will catch up with a few of you?

If all goes to plan I shall be there for this Open Day with Kerry (fockewulf). Maybe we will catch up with a few of you? I'm hoping to be there for at least the afternoon. Last time I was there, the crowd line was rather far back from the display line. There was however a small area further forward which appeared to be accessed by way of escorted walk. Anyone know what the story is there? Is it just a matter of being in the right place at the right time?

Wasn't there a cordoned off area reasonable close to the taxiway and runway last time? Or is this a different show? Kinda like a family day out in the sun enjoying the display and catching up with friends. Cheers

Cheers Yes, when I was there last it was not clear how you got there - just walking there didn't seem to be an option.

Is that house new?? What a great place to live!
One thing I'm worried about is what is the weather going to do?
The forecast for Sunday on Metvuw looks crap in the morning but clear in the afternoon, so fingers crossed it's right.

I'm sure it'll be fine..... Massive storm set to hit NZ tomorrowwww.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=10673650Bound to have blown over by Sunday considering that each time I see the forecast in the Herald it says something different for Auckland.

I'v been asked to turn out to Ardmore at 0800 to set up for a scaled down open day and a decision will be made in the morning as to whether the will be any air displays. All that is subject to the weather of course.
Driving rain in Henderson Valley at the moment and we have had two lengthy power outages.
